Terms of Use

Plain English rules for using the STLACCESS 3D printing scale conversion tools. I keep it simple so you can get back to printing miniatures.

The Short Version

By hanging out here and using the tools on STLACCESS, you agree to these simple rules. If you don't like how things are set up, please don't use the calculators. This tool will evolve over time, and I'll tweak these notes as needed to match new site features.

Using the Site

STLACCESS is a free tool built entirely for the 3D printing and tabletop gaming community.

  • Fair Use: You are completely free to use my scale conversion numbers for your personal and commercial 3D printing projects.
  • Play Nice: Please do not run automated scraping scripts to grab the conversion datasets or try to overwhelm my traffic setup.
  • The Creator Badge: The badge layout is designed for sculptors and web stores to make sharing scales easier. Don't alter the badge embed code to distort how a scale applies to a model.

The "Failed Print" Clause

3D printing has a ton of moving parts, and small adjustments change everything. I use these mathematical scale calculations because they work cleanly for me, but I am not responsible for:

  • Wasted filament when prints fail.
  • Slight scale differences caused by material shrinkage or specific slicing profiles.
  • Unexpected sizing if the original designer didn't sculpt their models to standard baseline proportions.
  • Physical wear on your equipment or accidental injuries from working with printing tools.

In short: I run the numbers, but the print bed is your domain. If a millimeter level match is critical to your build, always print a small test piece first.

Independence & Trademarks

STLACCESS is a strictly independent project.

  • I have no connection, backing, or agreements with Games Workshop, Atomic Mass Games, Wizards of the Coast, or any other miniature brand.
  • Game names like "Warhammer 40,000" or "Star Wars Legion" belong exclusively to their respective owners. I only mention them on this site so hobbyists know which games use which general model proportions.

How Things Stand

Since people access this calculation layout globally, I design everything to be as clear and minimal as possible. These guidelines are managed under the local rules where this hobby project runs. If you want to see how data is isolated, check out the Privacy Policy.
