The math

(35.0mm / 32.0mm) × 100 = 109.4%

Based on 175cm human baseline, eye-level measurement (160cm).

Scale baselines

  • Source eye level 32.0mm Eye
  • Target eye level 35.0mm Eye
  • Scale factor 109.4%

When you need this

You need this when bringing older or smaller 32mm models into a modern 35mm collection. At only 9% difference, these scales can mix on the same table without looking wrong. Keep bases consistent and paint styles matched.

Source: 32mm

32mm is the modern heroic standard. Games Workshop shifted from 28mm to 32mm between 2014 and 2015 for more facial detail and heroic proportions. Non-GW sculptors often call this 'heroic 32mm' because limbs and weapons are slightly oversized. Common systems: Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Infinity.

Note: Some third-party sculptors label 35mm models as '32mm heroic.' Check eye-level measurement, not total height.

Target: 35mm

35mm is used by Star Wars: Legion (current), Kingdom Death, Scale 75. Popular with painters who want more canvas for freehand detail without entering true bust territory. Often sits between 32mm heroic and 40mm skirmish scales.

Note: 35mm is sometimes marketed as 'true 35mm' (realistic proportions) vs 'heroic 35mm' (exaggerated). Check before mixing.

Print notes

Set your slicer to 109.4%. FDM at 35mm benefits from a 0.2mm nozzle at 0.06mm layer height for faces.
